AMERICA VS. PHILIPPINES: (#2)

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

The Public Transportation is also very different in the Philippines. In America, you have buses, cars, trains, and sometimes, a subway system. In the Philippines, we have jeepneys, trycicads (a motorcycle with a little side car attached to it), and tricycles (a bicycle with a side car attatched to it). You can ride these for 5-7 pesos, which is 14 cents in America (very cheap don’t you think?:)). Our jeepneys are very colorful. Each jeepney driver chooses his own design and colors, so sometimes you can get some very interesting looking jeepneys. I even saw one, one time, that was pink, and had "Hello Kitty" on it:)

The roads are very different as well. Instead of highways, we just have little streets everywhere. In the Philippines, we have too many cars for the roads. For example, if you lived in America, it would take you fifteen to twenty minutes to get to our largest mall. Whereas in the Philippines, because of all the traffic and small streets, it would take you an hour to get there.

You can also hear honking everywhere. In the Philippines, honking is a way to communicate with the other drivers. There are rules for the road, but no one follows them. So driving in the Philippines is very wild. (haha it is a good thing that I didnt learn how to drive there:)
