Now you may think that there would be nothing different about your New Years and New Years in a foreign country, but I am here to tell you that it is very different:) (hehe especially in the Philippines)

For one, we make a big deal about New Years. This may surprise you, but in the Philippines, New Years is a bigger holiday than Christmas! We usually have a party with lots of food! And we have FIREWORKS:)))) Lots and lots of fireworks:) Everyone from the poorest of poor to the richest of rich have fireworks. And right at midnight, everyone goes wild:)! Horns start honking, people bang pots and pans, and everyone starts setting off hundreds of fireworks. The reason for all this noise at midnight is a superstitious belief that the noise will scare away evil spirits in the coming year. I just think all the noise is a lot of fun! I definitely like our noisy Filipino New Years!
