News from the Philippines!

Patience! This is the word that comes to mind when I think of our return to the Philippines. Within the first week, we looked at around 30 different rental houses. One thing became apparently clear right away. The price of rent has definitely went up in the last 11 years! We looked at smaller houses, bigger houses, nasty houses that need lots of work, and new houses that are ready to move in…but expensive!

We are praying for a house that is close to the church. We are at the church every day, so we do not want to live very far away and deal with third-world congested traffic.

We did find a house that we are interested in renting. The owners daughter is very busy, and it took a few days before we could meet with her. We made an offer of rent on the house that we could afford. She then had to talk to her mother to see if they would accept that offer. That took about a week. Our offer was accepted, but now we have to wait for a contract. That has taken longer than expected.

We are to meet with the owner’s daughter again on Saturday. We are just praying for a favorable outcome.

Nothing in the Philippines moves fast. We just need a little more patience and a LOT more prayers!

Thanks everyone for praying!
