My 18th Birthday!

Yesterday was my 18th birthday! Everything from the multiple surprises my brother, family, and friends gave me to the simplest birthday greeting simply made my day special! So much time and effort were put into planning and executing those surprises, it made me feel very loved. I knew this birthday would probably be the hardest for me because my parents and younger sister are in the Philippines, and 18 is such a special birthday in the Philippines. What makes a girl's 18th birthday so special is that she gets 18 flowers and 18 candles from all her friends and family, along with special birthday messages. I thought I was going to miss that special tradition because I was not in the Philippines. But God knew! At my board game party, my guests sent me upstairs while they had a little meeting. I had no clue what was going on till I walked down the stairs and saw everyone standing in a line with flowers and candles! I was so overwhelmed! It was everything that I had dreamed of! The kids were first to give me their flowers and messages. Then, all my friends came forward! It was so special! (I have to admit I cried a little). When everyone left my party, my brother had one more surprise for me! My Aunt Julia had bought me 18 roses and family and friends from all over the world sent me messages for my birthday! Wow! What an amazing day! Thank you everyone who made it special for me!
