Crazy....fun.....hot......fast.... These are all words I would use to describe this summer! With ministries and things to do every week, this summer has just flown by. Working as a secretary at the church I attend makes summer even more crazy! Helping plan programs, picnics, and camps makes life a little hectic. But I am so glad that I was able to help in all of these ministries! I will tell you some of my favorite things that I have done this summer…. I got do help prepare and execute VBS for the first time. Everyday, me and three other girls came in and prepared things for VBS that night! We had 116 children and teens attend, and some of the kids even brought their parents! Everyone of them heard the gospel, and some of them were saved! It was one of the most exhausting times this summer, but also one of the most rewarding times! One of my favorite memories of VBS was when all of the directors of VBS got to ride in the fire truck that came! It was so much fun! I also got to go to junior camp as a counselor this year. This is not the first time I have been able to do this. I actually got to do it last year as well. This was definitely a highlight of the summer for me! Last year, when I did it for the first time, I felt completely overwhelmed! But, this year was another story. I really enjoyed my time with the kids and connected with them! My favorite thing from this week of camp was the cappuccino machines that the camp had for the counselors! I don’t really drink coffee, so I was skeptical at first as to how a cappuccino tastes. But I soon found out that it was delicious and a definite energy booster!! Another fun memory from this summer is when a teen group from Ireland came for two weeks on a missions trip! There were 13 teens and adults that came. There were even two Filipinos with them and one spoke Cebuano!! While they were here, we went to Niagara Falls, passed out tracts at festivals, passed out tracts in a parade, and went to teen camp. It was great! My favorite memory from that time was going on a bike ride with some of the teens. This was a wonderful summer, and I thank God for all the things that He allowed me to be a part of!
