More fun in the Philippines

Growing up in the Philippines I have had so many opportunities to serve the Lord in ways that I could never do anywhere else. Being a missionary kid is great!
When I was a teenager, our church hosted a medical clinic. One of the days of the medical clinic, a dentist came in to work on people’s teeth. I got to be her “official” helper for the day. I rolled gauze to put in people’s mouthes, and I held the flashlight while she extracted and checked teeth. At the end of the day, the dentist told me that if I never went into nursing, I should consider dentistry:) SCORE!!!!!!
Another time after a big typhoon passed thru the Philippines, our church did a bunch of relief work on another island. The island was a wreck. Some people were hurt. So, I went with my friend who is a RN, and we did a small medical clinic. We cleaned wounds, took blood pressure, and treated other injuries. It was such an amazing experience!
Like we always say, “Everything is more fun in the Philippines!”
